Bisecting an  Angle

Objective:

Divide angle ABC into two

congruent segments. 

 

1.- Label  the angle ( ABC ).
2.- Place  the tip of the compass at  point B,

      and draw an arc  intercepting segment

      AB and segment BC at points F and E.

      

3.- Use E and F as centers to draw two

      arcs of equal radii intersecting at

      point D.

    - Place the tip of the compass,  first at

      E and then at F, to draw the two arcs

       intersecting at point D.  

 

4.- Draw a straight line from B and passing

      through point D.

    - Line BD bisects the angle ABC.
